Today we went to the Dawson County Fair. Sydney was dancing on the free stage with LaDonna’s School of Dance dancers. She danced at 12:30 pm and again an hour later. The first song was the Penguin song that the girls danced to. The second song was Roses are Red. The girls all did great, considering the heat here today.

After Sydney was finished with her dancing, we enjoyed the fair for a couple more hours, visiting all the animals and exhibits, games and rides. The kids both decided that they didn’t want to do the rides that were there. The only ride they wanted to go on was closed temporarily. The kids did have fun with the games. They played the duck pond and won blow up dolphins, a blue one for Charlie and a pink one for Sydney. They also played a basketball game and both did great with that one too, coming home with small stuffed dolphins, Charlie a blue and white one and Sydney a pink one again. They loved the petting zoo and some of the animals but they aren’t used to some of the bigger animals, having lived in town much of their life.
Then there is the fair food. The kids had corn dogs, hot dogs, nachos, lemonade, and of course mini donuts too! And lots of water. It was really hot today with not much breeze.
The kids also found school exhibits, one for each of them. Charlie had a snowman picture he received a red ribbon for and Sydney had an egg picture that she won a blue ribbon for. They were both pleased. They found so many neat exhibits too. They loved the lego exhibits and the ones that were entered by kids their age and kids they know.
And with all the walking, warm weather, dancing and yummy food, they are both very tired tonight.
