Tattoos…

How do you feel about tattoos? Ashley decided it was time to add another tattoo to her body. At our house, the rule was that when you are over the age of 18 and graduated from high school and living on your own, you can do what you want but don’t expect us to approve of your decisions. She got her first tattoos last year, on her feet. She was so anxious to get her tattoos that she did them in black because it was cheaper. However, her second tattoo experience was done in color and much bigger. I have to say I like her second tattoo. I think it is very tasteful as far as tattoos go. Her friend Neesie had a tattoo done with her this time. Ashley wrote the words directly on her back in her own handwriting so Neesie will have a connection to Ashley forever this way. I thought was very unique.

Chuck has two tattoos and had them before I met him. I wasn’t big on tattoos but he was worth it so you get used to them. He has an Eagle on his upper right arm and a black panther on his lower left leg.

Ashley asked me if I would ever consider doing just the initial “A” somewhere, anywhere I want, so that we could have matching “mother-daughter” tattoos of our first initial. I haven’t made any decision about that. I am not sure that I even ever want a tattoo but I like her idea. Something to consider at the very least…

Easter Monday…

The kids were off from school today due to the Easter holiday. It was nice enough here for them to be outside. The weather was warm and sunny but very windy.

We went to Minot for Easter weekend but had to come back early so that Chuck could be at work by 5 PM on Easter Sunday. We arrived in Minot Friday evening.

Saturday, we went to Barnes and Noble, where Ashley works now, to see Curious George and for the kids to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt and Story Time too.

Sydney decided she wanted her picture taken with the Easter Bunny too so we wandered down the mall to the JCPenney Court. Ashley was done working at 3 PM so we waited for her to get off work and spent some time with her and picked up the picture of Sydney with the Easter Bunny at 4 PM. After that, we went back to the motel for some relaxation and pool time.

We got up early on Sunday and headed to Grandma’s house for Easter dinner. We left there in time for Chuck to be back to work by 5 PM. It is a 4 hour drive for us from our house to Minot.

The Easter Bunny left baskets for the kids at the motel so they were all happy about that. Last night, our neighbor, Gert brought over 3 big chocolate bunnies for the kids too. She is such a sweet lady. Bless her heart!

Before I forget, I still have to share a picture of the beautiful roses from my hubby for my birthday earlier this month. Aren’t they gorgeous?! He did great! :)

Celebrating my birthday…

feb-mar-2008-024sm.jpgThe past few days have flown by so fast for me. Today Ashley left to go back to Minot. Ashley arrived here Wednesday night around 8:45 PM. The time has gone by so fast while she was here but we had some fun during that time anyway. Thursday, I took her over to meet my neighbor, Gert, who is 87 and had asked to meet her when she was here. Gert is the sweetest lady and I really couldn’t say no. So we visited with her for a bit on Thursday afternoon. After dinner Thursday, I worked on Ashley’s taxes for her while she did a load of laundry. Then on Friday I went to a health fair event with a friend and afterwards, Ashley, Sydney and I went and bought doughnuts. After lunch on Friday, we took Sydney to preschool and then I treated Ashley to a hair trim and then we went shopping, and just had so much fun! flowers-mar-2008-002.jpgI received flowers on Friday from my brother Kevin and his family and also from Ashley. Both were very beautiful. Ashley gave me lilies and Kevin gave me a mixed bouquetflowers-mar-2008-001.jpg. I also received a wonderful card from my friend Stacia and a very nice card from my parents (with a money gift in it). Then on Saturday, my friend Nila and her husband Steve came over and we ordered pizza and watched movies. They also gave me a wonderful card. We also had cake while they were here. My hubby gave me a very beautiful card and tells me he intends to give me my present after we get our tax refund next week. So I will have to wait and see I guess… Anyway, my birthday turned out to be a very nice weekend (including the weather which was exceptionally nice and sunny) except when Ashley left to go home to Minot today. Then I was feeling all the love in my heart for her and the tears in my eyes when she left… I can’t wait to see her again soon!
