Sydney is still not feeling 100% so she stayed home with me today. And nothing seemed to be right no matter what she did. She is the kind of child who is very sweet when she feels great but she has her little temper tantrums that last about 2 seconds and then she is all smiles again. Today was a day where every time I turned around, we went through those moments, where she would say, “go away!” and then she would be fine in less than a minute. I sure hope she gets over this soon…
I received my first birthday card in today’s mail… from JCPenney. Isn’t it great when they give you 15% off on one purchase during the month of your birthday?! My birthday isn’t until next Saturday but I have a feeling this year will be a good one. My oldest, Ashley, is coming to visit me for 5 days over my birthday, in honor of “me”. And my hubby who works every weekend ended up switching with someone for two weeks so he has two weekends off, including the weekend of my birthday. Now, if only I could go back a year instead of moving ahead a year I would be extremely happy this year!
Last year for my birthday, Ashley gave me a gift certificate for a one hour therapeutic massage, which was awesome but since we were in the middle of moving and you all know how stressful that can be, I never got the chance to use it before we moved. We moved to a place 4 hours away from there and the movers packed the gift certificate in a box that I just recently unpacked (after searching through many boxes over the past year). The expiration date on the gift certificate is February 29, 2008 and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to use this gift and that Ashley would be upset with me. Well, I called the massage therapist and spoke to her about it and she agreed that I could still use it and that in April or May sometime this spring would still be fine with her so I am really grateful and can’t wait to make use of last year’s gift too!
So, today turned out to be a pretty good Monday except that Sydney wasn’t feeling like herself just yet. Now, if I only had all the things done on my “to do” list, it would have been a great Monday. I don’t ask for that much, do I?
